Components: Polymethylalkyl-methylaralkylsiloxane
Characteristics: Silicone leveling agent with defoaming effect. It improves solvent-borne and solvent-free surface properties with a particular focus on leveling. Contrary to most silicone additives, it acts in a defoaming manner (that is, no or only a little foam stabilization), depending on the polarity of the coating system. SF-LA323 increases surface slip and therefore improves scratch and abrasion resistance, prevents the formation of Bénard vortices and improves the orientation of aluminum powder and matting agents. This additive does not cause shine even in situations where matting is difficult for high solids systems. In flow coating systems, SF-LA323 stabilizes curtains. SF-LA323 is heat-resistant at baking temperatures up to 250°C/480°F and will not reduce intercoat adhesion during recoating.
