Overseas Polysilazane Suppliers & Manufacturers
Merck was founded in 1668 and is headquartered in Darmstadt, Germany. It is a commercial manufacturer that can provide a full range of organic polysilazanes and inorganic polysilazanes. The polysilazanes produced will be provided as raw materials (resins) to the coatings industry. Representative products include Durazane series liquid polysilazanes, which are resistant to high temperatures, waterproof and dustproof, scratch-resistant, and corrosion-resistant. They can be used in the fields of automobiles, aerospace, maritime, and construction.
Merck's polysilazane products are divided into the following three types:
Durazane® 1000 series: The working principle of organic polysilazanes is to use Si-N-Si and Si-O-Si structures to form a dense ceramic layer. The multi-layer structure formed in this way is very resistant to high temperatures, and also has excellent anti-rust and weathering protection, and can also prevent moisture intrusion (strong hydrophobicity).
Durazane® 2000 series: Inorganic polysilazanes can form a thin film containing quartz and glass-like silica on the surface. It can be used to add scratch resistance, chemical resistance and high temperature resistance to various substrates.
Durazane® 5500: Microparticle additives are developed for high-gloss, solvent-based topcoats. Merck has developed a polymerization process that allows polymer chains to form covalent bonds with the surface of each particle. Through their functional groups, these resin-like polymer chains can react chemically with the adhesive matrix.
Japan's Teon can produce perhydropolysilazanes; KiON in the United States has polyureasilazanes and polysilazanes under the brand name "ceraset"; Dow Corning in the United States (a joint venture between Dow Chemical and Corning Glass Company, Dow acquired Corning's shares in 2016 and re-emerged on the market with the new brand DOWSIL), Bayer in Germany, UP Chemical in South Korea and DNF Solution also have some polysilazane products.
